The 60th Anniversary Special Edition

The headline addition marks sixty years since the Corolla debuted in Japan in 1966. It is a hybrid grade based on the Hybrid SE. Production is limited to 2,500 units in the United States. It adds sport seats with Black and Red Sport fabric inserts, exclusive 18-inch machined, black-finished alloy wheels, and custom badging, and the 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen is standard. Two colors are offered: Ice Cap and Supersonic Red, the latter a first for a Corolla sedan. It reaches dealers in early 2027. Toyota has not announced pricing. Powertrains

Two powertrains cover the lineup. Gas grades use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. It pairs with a Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission driving the front wheels. Hybrid grades use a 1.8-liter four-cylinder paired with Toyota Hybrid System 5 (THS 5), Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system. Net output is 138 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque through an electronically controlled CVT. The full Toyota hybrid lineup extends well beyond the Corolla.

Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive is available on the Hybrid LE and Hybrid SE only. It uses a rear-mounted electric motor to drive the rear wheels. There is no mechanical driveshaft running the length of the car. Every other grade is front-wheel drive.

All Corolla grades use a MacPherson strut front suspension, with a multi-link rear suspension available. Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control, and Hill Start Assist Control are standard throughout.

Interior, Seating, and Cargo

Every grade seats five and carries 13.1 cubic feet of trunk space. No buyer gives up practicality by choosing a more efficient or sportier variant. Rear headroom measures 37.1 inches and rear legroom 34.8 inches. That keeps the back bench usable for adults on a typical commute, not just children. The rear seat folds to extend cargo length.

Seating steps up through the range. The LE and SE use a six-way adjustable fabric driver’s seat with a four-way adjustable front passenger seat. The SE adds premium sport seats with sport fabric inserts. The XSE and Hybrid XLE upgrade to a SofTex-trimmed eight-way power-adjustable and heated front driver’s seat with a four-way adjustable front passenger seat.
